I had an interesting discussion on how long it would take for the shellac flakes to dissolve in denatured alcohol. I always say 24 to 48 hours but I never actually measured the time. So I got doubts and I figured I make a little experiment.
I mixed the shellac at a ratio of 4:1 (25 grams of shellac flakes to 100 ml denatured alcohol) I stirred several times at irregular intervals. It took 23 hours for the shellac to dissolve.

Ich sage ja immer 24 bis 48 Stunden, aber ich habe nie wirklich die Zeit gemessen. Also bekam ich Zweifel an meiner Aussage und habe darum mal ein kleines Experiment gemacht.
Ich mischte den Schellack im Verhältnis 4:1 (25g Schellack zu 100 ml Spiritus), rührte den angesetzten Schellack mehrmals in unregelmäßigen Abständen.
Es hat 23 Stunden gedauert, bis sich der Schellack aufgelöst hat.
