In this video, I explore Scarlatti's sonata k.200 in C Major completely unprepared and show how I bring such music from flat notes to expressive playing.
We look at tempo, ornaments, articulation, accentuation, timing, and the role of motif-based thinking.
This is also why Scarlatti can be such a powerful gateway to understanding Mozart at the keyboard.
