This Scarlatti Sonata in C major is probably one if the longest sonatas by Scarlatti. It starts in a very wonderful open arpeggiated figure in C major and then by the second section it’s moved into a much more close scrunch harmonies, and if we heard these on the harpsichord they would be quite strong and bright and we would a bit more a percussive sound. So I think it’s important when we play these on the piano to bring out these out and really enjoy their fascinating harmonies.
