Hey yall, it's been a minute.
This was an interesting one to try to make. Usually, when I think of a storyline I want to make, I first think of the storyline and then find a song that fits the video I want to make which gives me a lot of freedom editing wise, but this one was different: I had to think of a storyline to match the song since I chose the song first, which meant following the lyrics strictly and since the song is kind of told in a flashback it was a bit hard to do :P Hopefully it won’t be too confusing, but if you can’t understand anything, just ask
I’ve loved this song for a long time now, and tried to edit to it several times (From non/Disney crossovers to trying to use cartoon footage), but it never seemed to work. I decided to just make a TLK video to it since that’s what I’m most used to, however it is a bit hard to adapt a song about a guy loving a prostitute to a story with lions, so I had to be a bit creative.
So keep in mind that in this video, Kiara is an Outlander who was allowed to live in the Pride lands under the condition that she subjects herself to whatever the leaders there demand of her, which are usually sexual or abusive demands (it was the closest I could come up with to a lion equivalent of a prostitute, sue me :P).
Also keep in mind that the events depicted in the video happened through the course of several months, with the interactions going back and forth instead of it being one linear event.
Plot:
When Scar first sees Kiara, before he has a chance to meet her, he’s intrigued as to why she’d subject herself to the abuse he witnesses her going through. He assumes she must just be a pushover or too afraid to stand up for herself and thinks bad of her for that.
Eventually he approaches her and when they first meet each other they have a small fight, as Kiara assumes he’s just someone else who’s going to abuse her and Scar thinks she’s just a pushover. However, when he eventually learns the truth about her and when she realizes he doesn’t want anything bad from her, they become somewhat friends.
Time passes and friendship becomes infatuation that becomes love. However, Kiara and Scar know that they’ll never be fully able to belong to each other as long as Kiara’s under her conditions. Scar tries to stand up against those who abuse her, but it’s useless as he’s not that strong himself. So their relationship stays in a limbo, with them having good moments together and wanting to be together but always going back to Kiara being in misery and Scar suffering for not being able to help the one he loves.
One day, when Kiara is out hunting, the Pride is struck by lightning and Kiara is trapped in a fire. Scar sees it and runs to try to save her, trying to grab her paw as she hangs on a cliff.
However, just before she can grab his paw, Kiara has flashbacks of everything she’s been through so far. Scar realizes what seems to be going on and desperately tries to convince her to take his paw. But Kiara decides that living the life she has been living is not worth it, and after pushing Scar away, she willingly lets go of the cliff and falls to her death.
A few months later, everything is back to normal and the Pride’s life goes on as if nothing had happened. Except for Scar, who forever mourns the loss of the love he was never able to have.
Well I love making Scar a good guy just so he can suffer, don’t I? :P If only he didn’t look evil in pretty much every scene he’s in.
I haven’t been around here much for a couple of reasons, mostly because of lack of inspiration to edit or lack of motivation to finish what I do start since I’ve been through some issues of my own. This is actually the first Lion King edit I’ve finished in a while, wow. I think it looks decent enough, if anything a bit rusty but what can you do. I just want to say thank you for everyone who has stuck around and to anyone new that got here while I was away! Hopefully this isn’t too much of a letdown for a comeback :P I do want to come back to editing at least a little more often, but we’ll see how that will go since I literally just stop every time I say I want to do it more. So for now, I hope you enjoy this!
Important note, this was hugely motived/inspired by Sullabib’s story “A scarred pride”. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it! It’s a huge TLK crossover that has become one of my favorite edits of all time. I kept coming back to it when I was stuck editing this because it’s just so well edited and well done it inspired me greatly! Thanks for inspiring me yet again :)

Long title, lol.
I had to render this like... Five or six times, I lost track. So just so you know at 0:43 there was a shadow underneath Kovu and it looked really good and Im pissed now but Im not rendering this again, deal with me.
I present my worst TLK video like, ever. I worked on this my whole Saturday... From 2pm to 8pm or something. I took a break to watch my TV show so yeah 6 hours spent on this or something. I honestly had no idea where I was going with this XD But I hope its enjoyable... At least a little.
Anyways storyline:
Kovu had a very abusive father (Scar). That affects his relationship with Simba because even if they love each other Kovu is hurt from his bad past and doesnt think hell ever be able to be happy again. He wont answer when Simba asks him what’s wrong so Simba thinks Kovu doesn’t want to be with him and goes away. In the end he realizes it was silly to let Scar’s ghost hunt him and goes back to Simba and they stay together, yay.
0:00 - 0:15 = Some flashback, Kovu growing up being abused over and over again. There were supposed to be some parallels between young/old Kovu but I failed.
0:16 – 0:37 = Mainly Kovu and Simba trying to work their relationship out with some obvious flashbacks. When Kovu remains silent Simba leaves because he’s mad.
0:37 – 0:42 = This part sucks but it was supposed to show the chaos inside Kovu’s head (showing his conflict with his abuse as a kid, his love for Simba and his hatred for Scar) as he tries to escape his past and figure out what he wants and feels. It’s all inside his head. Also yes, his father gave him his scar here.
0:42 – The end = Kovu somehow realizes that all he needs to be happy is let his past go and allow himself to be happy again. So he comes back to Simba and they end together. Happy ending, you’re welcome.
Blergh. I tried to make this good but I used chroma keyer because I was too lazy to mask and I had only one day to make this so I had to hurry and I’m sorry for this thing in general. I’m not good with fast songs and my laptop wouldn’t help either. It didn’t crash by miracle but so slow ugh. Well, I tried. Forgive me.

Hello birthday bean!! I know I’m late and I’m sorry because this wasn’t what I meant to do for your birthday but I literally had zero inspiration and time for that so yeah have this. I wanted to make a Kovu video because I know you love him so I made this because I couldn’t think of anything else.
Anyways you’re like my favorite person in the whole world and you deserved something.
I remember a year ago when I was streaming and you joined and I taught you how to mask and then I added you on Skype and now we are the cool beans. Like I can’t believe it has been one year already! I wanted to make you something to make you happy because when you’re sad I have no reason to be happy because my happiness lies with yours. I hope I manage to make you smile even if this is terrible lol I’m sorry you deserved so much better so I’ll understand if you never talk to me again after this.
But better late than never and I just couldn’t not make you something because seriously I would die without you. So don’t die on me because I’d bring you back and kill you for dying on me. I don’t know, I love you, k? I love you really much my long lost twin and I wish I could hug you but someday I will but for now this will suffice.
