Not a tutorial, there's plenty on Youtube already but just a short video showing how film negatives can be scanned using a DSLR (Canon 60D) on a tripod and LED lightbox.

The program I used for this was EOS Utility, which lets you remote control your camera from your computer, which helps here as you can't touch the camera while doing it.

These results aren't perfect though as I'm using the standard 18-55mm kit lens, I need a macro lens to really focus in close enough.
