If you see any accounts claiming to be "Discussion Accounts" its a load of bullshit.
Nobody serious has accounts to simply discuss trades and the like.
This will most likely always be a sketchy situation that I would be very suspicious of.
The impersonation scammer in question was trying to contact other users that were inquiring about possible scams on the Steam forums.
Possibly seeing them as vulnerable to manipulation and acting as the "good guy" trying to help them out with advice while in reality feeding them wrong information or, in the worst case, getting them scammed.
Steam moderation took down this post but didnt find anything wrong with the very obvious Steam account impersonation of multiple other users and at the end of my observations, impersonation of a trading website bot.
I dont know what verification methods the support team on the other end has but if they cant find anything wrong with the most obvious impersonations and the intent behind it, they have much to improve upon.
The second half is once again another scammer adding my alt account trying to make me fall for their fake gambling website scam.
The individual in question was so scared of Steam flagging his link that he didnt even post his scam website and I was supposed to "Google it."
After questioning this myself you can tell that they were getting annoyed at not just doing what he told me to.
When I took a bit longer to respond later since I was busy reporting his stupid ass, they definitely were annoyed I wasnt doing what they told me to.
Since I did all the necessary steps of reporting this moron, I thought I might as well tell them. What followed was the icing on the cake.
You gotta love the moments when scammers break down and start insulting you, that way you know they are not only losers for trying to steal from others on the internet but also unprofessional enough that they bother wasting even more of their time trying to vent at someone not falling for they retarded schemes.
