How can digital innovations for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) be scaled sustainably and equitably across diverse health systems? This World Health Summit 2025 workshop explored how digital health tools can strengthen NCD prevention, diagnosis, and management, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
The session examined the potential of mobile health, telemedicine, AI-enabled diagnostics, and data-driven decision support to close access gaps and improve patient-centered care. Speakers discussed persistent challenges – including infrastructure, interoperability, data protection, and digital literacy – and highlighted the importance of coordinated national strategies and long-term investment.
A case study from the City Cancer Challenge–Siemens Healthineers partnership provided insights from 18 months of analysis across urban LMIC settings. The discussion drew perspectives from global financing institutions, technical assistance providers, regional health actors, and government representatives, focusing on how to translate national digital ambitions into practical, scalable solutions.
This workshop was part of the World Health Summit 2025 in Berlin and was co-hosted by Siemens Healthineers AG.
