Years ago, ZUN's site had a page called "東方幻想的音楽", where MIDI files made for the Roland SC-88Pro could be downloaded for free. Between 1999 and 2001, ZUN posted arrange versions of many PC-98 Touhou Project tracks and arranged the entire Seihou Shuusou Gyoku OST. He also posted the Torte Le Magic OST and 6 tracks known as "ZUN's Strange Works". They only sound as intended on this module.
The PC-98 arrangements include select tracks from 東方靈異伝 ～ The Highly Responsive to Prayers (Touhou 1), 東方封魔録 ～ the Story of Eastern Wonderland (Touhou 2), 東方夢時空 ～ Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream (Touhou 3), 東方幻想郷 ～ Lotus Land Story (Touhou 4) and 東方怪綺談 ～ Mystic Square (Touhou 5). Please don't call these "remix" or "remastered". These words don't mean what you think they do!

This is "Forbidden Magic" from Mystic Square. It is a song that is awesome like a lie. Attempt to compare is out of this world (^ ^;
This arrange (doesn't feel like one) when finished sounded very cool. I always try my hardest to make the boss songs to be memorable and easy to remember as much as possible, as well as to tune to the nature (of the boss) · · ·. But as soon as I make my my songs, even the cutest boss will get even darker (^ ^;
By the way, speaking of the "Forbidden Magic" in the game, it must be the shallow shadow of a homing laser (big lie). Alice (Boss 3 sides, extra boss) uses such "Forbidden Magic" in the extra stage, but it's not like really matters now, is it? (^ ^;;

アレンジは（あんまアレンジしてないけど）小気味よく仕上がったんじゃないかと。 いつも、ボスの曲は出来るだけ覚えやすくて、（ボスの）性格にあった曲にしたいと思って いるのですが・・・。私の曲にかかると、かわいいボスも暗くなってしまう(^^;;
ところで、ゲーム中のどこら辺が禁断の魔法だったのかというと、あの影の薄いホーミング レーザーとか（大嘘） 設定上では、アリス（３面ボス、エキストラボス）がエキストラステージで究極の魔法を使 っているけど、あんま関係ないやね(^^;;;
