Years ago, ZUN's site had a page called "東方幻想的音楽", where MIDI files made for the Roland SC-88Pro could be downloaded for free. Between 1999 and 2001, ZUN posted arrange versions of many PC-98 Touhou Project tracks and arranged the entire Seihou Shuusou Gyoku OST. He also posted the Torte Le Magic OST and 6 tracks known as "ZUN's Strange Works". They only sound as intended on this module.
The PC-98 arrangements include select tracks from 東方靈異伝 ～ The Highly Responsive to Prayers (Touhou 1), 東方封魔録 ～ the Story of Eastern Wonderland (Touhou 2), 東方夢時空 ～ Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream (Touhou 3), 東方幻想郷 ～ Lotus Land Story (Touhou 4) and 東方怪綺談 ～ Mystic Square (Touhou 5). Please don't call these "remix" or "remastered". These words don't mean what you think they do!

This is "Dream Express" for Mystic Square.
This song is full of all kinds of memories. I had planned on making Lotus Land Story the final game when I released it, and making it my swan song to the doujin community at that Summer Comiket, but it sold a lot better than I expected. That led me to not really being satisfied with the first stage theme of that song being too dark, so on the train home after the event, I came up with this song.
The song's title is more fitting than you might think.
Thanks to this song, I was determined to release another game in the short time between Summer and Winter Comikets (although ended up reliving the nightmare when I was making PoDD (^^;), and so I wasn't able to cleanse my hands of the whole doujin thing just yet.
I tried to make this song jazz fusion with a dash of hard rock. The sub-melody in the piano is my own style of complex jazz, and then I set up a simpler main melody and upbeat drum rhythm against that complicated backing. This is without a doubt the basic idea behind all Touhou songs.
It's a very moving song... no, really.
But I would like to say one more thing about it.
This song is REALLY dark (BA-BUM) and Shuusou Gyoku's False Strawberry is even DARKER. (Mwahahaha)

これは、色々と思い出深い曲です。 そもそも、４作目に当たる東方幻想郷が最終作の予定だったので、幻想郷発売の夏コミで これで同人稼業ともおさらばと思っていたのですが、幻想郷の売れ行きが思った以上によ かったことと、幻想郷の一面テーマ曲があまりに暗い曲だったことがどうしても納得いか ず、帰りの電車の中で生まれた曲が、この【 Dream Express 】です。
まさに夢特急。
この曲のおかげて、夏から冬に短期間にまた一本創る決心してしまった。 （夢時空の悪夢再び(^^;） というか、結局同人から足を洗ってないし(ぉ
曲はハードロック気味、ジャズフュージョンといったものを目指してあります。 今回のピアノ部分やサブメロディは、ジャズの複雑なメロディを自分風にアレ ンジしてみました。 複雑なサブメロディをバックに、わかりやすいメインメロディ＋軽快なドラム。 これが、東方曲の基本だったに違いない。
この曲は、感慨深い... いや、ほんとに。
でも、一言いいたい。
この曲も暗いぞ（爆） さらに、秋霜玉のフォルスストロベリーはもっと暗いぞ（呪殺）
