Wanted to share with you how I came to own my Savoia Marchetti S.56. It had been owned by Dr. Ralph Cox, a patron of the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, New York, who allowed the craft to be on display there. When Dr. Cox passed, his estate put the plane up for auction, through the Bonhams Auction House. I had been following the plane closely, and when the auction day finally arrived, was eager to bid. If you've never witnessed an auction of this type, you might find this clip interesting. In addition to planes, they had hundreds of other varied vintage items for bid. Hope you enjoy!
