Sharing my thoughts on the new Tower 28 LipSoftie Hydrating Tinted Lip Treatment Balms!
Here are the shades shown in order, and the names correspond to the scent of each one as well:
Clear (Vanilla)
Dulce de Leche
Watermelon Kiwi
Blood Orange Vanilla
Ube Vanilla
Description: “A clinically proven, non-sticky lip balm treatment that delivers the intense hydration of a lip mask with a sweet sheer tint using food-grade, non-artificial flavor.”
Price:
These are $16 which is awesome, Tower 28 continuously impresses me with their price points!
Formula:
The formula is extremely thin, possibly the thinnest I’ve ever tried, and it is quite slippery. If you like lip products that feel completely weightless on the lips then you may love these!
Packaging:
Given the formula is so thin and some of the shades are quite pigmented, I don’t understand the Carmex-style packaging choice, which makes the product messier to apply.
My experience:
Sadly, these are not for me. I’m SO grateful that Tower 28 continues to send me PR even though I have the opposite preference of their products. (I like thicker lip products, soft matte complexion products, and powder blushes, so their products generally don’t work for me.) I feel like the thin formula emphasizes texture and my lips didn’t feel any more nourished after the product wore off :/
Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable tinted lip balm with a weightless feel that comes in a range of delicious scents and nice colors, then you may love these. If you like thicker lip products with a glass-like, smoothing shine then I would pass.
