The Cree First Nation of Waswanipi, Quebec, has been fighting for years to protect the last 10% of intact boreal forest on their territory - but after 8 years, the Quebec government is still ignoring them and is even planning to open the area for logging by 2019.
Without the Cree's consent, there is no access to their land. On September 10th, 2018 the Cree stood up for their rights during a pacific blockade.
