Zeus presents 'Savage' (un-emulated) for the ZX Spectrum, a true classic from the golden era of ZX gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1988
Absolutely LOVED the first stage on the Amiga where WOOOOAAAAAHHHHH SAVAGE!!!! is blasted out of the speakers with a serious 80's sounding soundtrack and over the top 80's sounds fx when throwing the axes, just glorious, obviously the 8-bit versions were going to have this removed but this Spectrum version plays extremely well.
Three stages are included, the first (7:45) is running through the castle blasting everything, the second (16:15) is the first person Space Harrier style section where you must blast enough baddies before progressing,...the pillars that come into the screen with their scary faces are beautifully drawn,...better than any of the other versions imo, the third (25:31) is you take control of the eagle where you must locate the treasures to bribe the gurad at the end to free the prisoners.
Just a great game.
