MCAL Scarf Yarn & Hook ~
4/worsted weight yarn
{I'm using Red Heart Roll with it Sparkle which has 561 yards}
H8/5 mm hook

Theatre Box Stitch ~
Beginning chain count - multiples of 6 plus 4 stitches
{i.e. 36 chains plus 4 chains equals 40 beginning chains}

Crochet Terms ~
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
puff - {yo, insert hook into next st, yo and pull up a loop} rep 3 times, 7 loops on hook, yo and pull through all 7 loops, ch 1 to close
rep - repeat

MCAL Scarf Part 1
R1 - ch 40, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across to end {39 sc}
R2 - ch 3 {counts as 1st dc}, turn, dc across to end {39 dc}
R3 - ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 dc, {ch 3, skip 2 dc, puff st in next dc, ch 3, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc} rep { } to last dc, sc in 3rd ch of beg ch 3
R4 - ch 5 {counts as 1st dc & ch 2}, turn, 3 sc in top of puff, {ch 3, 3 sc in top of puff} rep { } to last puff, ch 2, dc in last sc
R5 - ch 1, turn, sc in dc, 2 sc in ch 2 space, {sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in ch 3 space} rep { } sc in ch 2 sp, sc in 3 ch from beg ch 5
