MCAL Scarf Yarn & Hook ~
4/worsted weight yarn
{I'm using Red Heart Roll with it Sparkle which has 561 yards}
H8/5 mm hook

Double Chain Arch Edging
Beginning count if you're only using this edging
Beginning chain count - multiples of 3 plus 3 stitches
{i.e. 30 chains plus 3 chain equals 33 beginning chains}

Crochet Terms ~
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
rep - repeat
st - stitch
sp - space
beg - beginning

MCAL Scarf Border - worked in a round around the scarf edge
R1 - ch1, turn, sc across to end {39sc}, sc once more in last st, turn to crochet along long edge, [ 158sc evenly across long edge, turn to crochet along short end ], 2sc first st, sc to end {38sc}, sc once more in last st, rep [ to ], sc in same st as beg sc, sl st to beg sc
R2 - ch1, sc in first sc, {ch5, sk 2 st, sc next st} rep { to } around whole edge of scarf ending with last ch5 before the beg st
R3 - {sc in in first skipped sc under ch5 arch, going behind the arch, remove hook and put it in front of the arch, grab the loop with the hook and pull it through the arch, ch5, first ch catches the previous arch} rep { to } until final ch5, sl st to beg sc
Fasten off and weave in ends
