We foster cats for Clear Creek Cat Rescue and these kittens are a little less than 4 months old in this video. The gray kitten was very scared of people's hands when she first came to us. One way to help kittens (and cats) to be less afraid of people is to pair people with something fun, like playing with toys. This toy requires the person to wiggle it and make it more enjoyable. The toy is on a short stick so that the kitten will have to come closer to people to play. As the kitten becomes more used to playing near people, we can start petting during play, too.
I'm sharing this video because we use ABA principles when helping to socialize the cats and kittens we foster.
