Satellite data from Nasa's FIRMS shows the intense concentration of active wildfires blazing across northeastern Algeria between August 25 and 31.

Authorities recorded over 150 fire outbreaks in a single day last week as heatwave conditions and strong winds swept the area, home to some of the country’s densest forest cover.
