So, like, there was this guy Pygmalion in Greece—or maybe it was Cyprus? He was really, really good at making statues. But one day he saw these girls called the Propoetides who were being super rude to Venus, so Venus turned them all mean and... well, they weren't very nice. Pygmalion saw that and went, "Uwaaa, real girls are scary!" and decided he’d rather just hang out with rocks.
So he used his chisel and made a statue wife. She didn't talk back or anything. She was just... there.
Now, this video we’re watching is kinda weird, right? People say famous artists made it, but they’re probably just making that up. It looks super creepy to us, but the person who made it probably thinks it’s the prettiest thing ever.
Maybe he’s like a new Pygmalion? To him, her voice sounding like a robot and her face being all pale and her red lips... he probably thinks, "Yeah, that’s the one. She’s perfect."
I wonder what's going on inside his head? Like, if you look at it from his side, is it actually a masterpiece? Are we the ones who are weird for not getting it?
We shouldn't judge them, I think. He might love her more than Chiyo-chan loves her dog. To him, she’s like a goddess or a super-human. Just... a totally satisfactory person.
