This is the furthest any province has gone to protect gun owners. While the Government of Saskatchewan canโt do much about federal bans, they're providing exemption certificates to licensed gun owners to protect them out past the amnesty period, should it come to that.
They're also providing appraisal certificates for those impacted and being offered ridiculously low amounts in "compensation."
For Saskatchewan gun owners, this will delay confiscation indefinitely (until the gun grab is over?), while ensuring people donโt get criminally charged in the process.
The Saskatchewan Association for Chiefs of Police are thankful (as are we) for the actions of the provincial government, allowing them to focus on fighting crime, instead of going after licensed gun owners.
