Lyrics
The Empress rides her horse along the beach,
Through gusty winds and quantum leaps;
Long brown hair pale yellow dress,
The ocean sprays she’s soaking wet.
She flies through the hourglass,
The present, future and the past;
Through the stars, the hands of time,
The pen that writes the poets rhyme.
Fierce eyes, that wet the raging sea,
The taste of salt upon the breeze,
Empbodiement, Le Femme Mystique
And Love it is her legacy.
She’s been your martyr, been your slave,
The courtesan, the fool, the knave;
The temptress in your wildest dreams,
She ate that apple from the tree.
She’s been your queen,
Blessed and cursed;
Le Femme Fatale with red lips pursed,
High priestess, Goddess, Warrioress,
Caused men great panic and duress.
Joan of Arc, Le Fleur De Lisle,
Magdelene of Galilee,
Stoned and silenced, called a witch,
In Salem we were heretics,
She’ll kindly state with acumen,
I did it all for love my friend.
I did it all for love,
I did it all for peace,
I did it all for grace and humanity.
Sometimes I was the sinner,
Sometimes I was the saint,
I hung, I swung, I screamed,
I burned, I walked the plank.
The Empress rides....
With a sword of Justice by her side.
Mystic, dervish, spell, intrigue,
Corset tight, she couldn’t breathe;
They wrapped her pretty, bound her feet,
Act polite, no time to grieve.
Flailing, writhing in a cage,
She held the key so filled with rage;
And she refused to wear a dress,
They raped her she would not confess!
Insecure tried to put her down,
Rob her, beat her, steal her crown,
Untethered soul on solid ground,
Her spirit lives where love is found.
She’ll kindly state with acumen,
I did it all for love my friend!
