In Oregon's Willamette Valley, the Albany and Eastern operates approximately 60 miles of track, based out of the town of Lebanon. While the railroad's main focus is hauling freight to and from various local businesses, the A&E also runs passenger trains dubbed the Santiam Excursion Trains. The star of these operations is restored steam locomotive Santa Maria Valley number 205. In this video, we'll learn about the history of the locomotive and then see the 205 in action, both on the railroad's excursion trains and also pulling recreated freight trains for a photography event.
