I have been tasked with the challenge to make videos to go along with songs written by my friend Sandy Soffe from Pennsylvania that go along with the Twelve Steps endorsed by Celebrate Recovery. The Celebrate Recovery Twelve Steps are pretty much the same as the Twelve Steps used by Alcoholics Anonymous. While AA uses the vague phrase "higher power", Celebrate Recovery's version makes it very clear that that "higher power" is Jesus Christ.
We are encouraged throughout the Bible to "pass it on." What does "it" refer to here? Well, for one, it refers to Jesus' love. For another it refers to the examples that Jesus set for us. And yet another, it refers to the Gospel message. But probably most importantly it refers to His teachings. One of the last commandments He gave to His disciples was the Great Commission, from Matthew 28:19-20. "Make disciples of all nations." That's how we are called to "pass it on."
