Welcome back to Celeb Splash. Neil Gaiman has shed some light on the reason why Tom Ellis isn't reprising his role of Lucifer in Netflix's The Sandman. When confronted by a fan on Twitter about the decision not to cast Ellis, however, Gaiman teased that the new casting allows them to take this character in a new and unexpected direction.

Gaiman elaborated on the show's decision, explaining that Ellis' Lucifer was too distinctive to "retrofit" into the original concept for the new series. "And also, he is so lovable. He is so wonderful. Meanwhile, Lucifer fans were left devastated last year when the fantasy crime drama wrapped up seemingly for good. But now, the creators of the show have shared their hopes to bring the series back in the future, while lead star Tom Ellis has shocked fans with his latest Instagram post. Check this video out!
