An attempt to build some dynamic changes into a backing track, for the purpose of practicing tension & release. This jam starts in A dorian and builds gradually for the first 4 phrases of 8 bars each. Then the bass moves up to D, indicating D mixolydian for 8 bars before returning back to Am. The bass then moves up to E, indicating E aeolian for 8 bars, and then the track returns to Am for the last two phrases of 8 bars each. The complete loop plays 4 times through in this video.
As a suggestion, try building tension toward the end of each 8 bar phrase, and release the tension by landing strongly on Am chord tones when the track goes back to Am.
