A simple enough tutorial, but an important one given the changes to both sand pistons. The changes have wrought all previous sand counter models inoperable, but this method is something that works and will work well.

The general idea is that the tree farm does not use any buttons, levers pressure plates (etc). All you need to do is place a sapling and the machine does the rest.

The main benefit of this design is that it does not ever kill any baby chickens prematurely. One of my subscribers requested a new farm so I built this one. Its a fixed* variation of the one featured by Xisumavoid (Originally made by Wool Tec MC) as it will Always cook the chickens.

[*fixed] The old design used to work as the baby chickens would grow up, be impacted instantly by the lava, and then cook straight away, but this feature has been removed.

ALSO, WHY IT MAKES A SINE WAVE http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/08/Sine_curve_drawing_animation.gif I had to slow it down for fraps and this squashed the wave and made it look linear.
