There's a famous quote that has circulated amongst preachers of late that's often been attributed to Martin Luther.
We don't know the real origin of the quote, but it's one that resonates with those who herald and proclaim truth.

I'll read it for you:
"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ. However boldly I may be professing it."

You see, a person who defends every point of truth except the one that is under attack is not truly defending the faith.

And that's why many churches in the world today that are comprised of millions of Christians are honoring this morning as Sanctity of Life Sunday.
We just selected this particular time to say we need to deal with this issue of abortion in our world.
The church needs to be prepared to speak to these things and to hear from God's Word on how we should sort them out.
