Consistent with our Critical Incident Video Release Procedure, SAPD is releasing video from an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred on August 29, 2025. Below is a brief synopsis:
At around 10:30 am, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Cherry St for an individual shooting a shotgun and pointing the gun at people in the area. Officers arrived shortly after and established a perimeter around the suspect’s home. The suspect then opened the side door and pointed the shotgun in the officer’s direction. Five officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect. The suspect, Jaime Gonzalez, 39, died on scene from his wounds. No officers or bystanders were injured.
The five officers involved have approximately 5 to 7 years of service with the San Antonio Police Department. As with all officer involved shootings, the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing this incident.
