The Scotsman launched a failed attack on Aku, and is now a ghost! (Also, he has a ton of daughters.) Jack and Ashi escape the island with the help of a friendly sea serpent, and Jack shows Ashi what Aku’s reign has done to the land and the people who inhabit it. The warrior shrouded by green mist appears to Jack in his time of sorrow, and this time Jack follows the mysteries figure.
While this sounds like it should have been an amazing episode of Samurai Jack, Ashi’s character development was too rushed and too straight-forward for my liking. I also wasn’t fond of the action or background designs in the second half of the episode (they were by no means bad, just felt lackluster compared to the magnificence of the prior episodes).
