SAMTEX, an audiovisual electronic treesome from Belgium, releases 'OH'. A warm, energetic, slightly sinister, arp-driven track, bringing the past to the future.
SAMTEX is based around Belgian national radio host and (pop)cultural icon Sam De Bruyn, who gained great momentum and popularity nationwide in just a short few years, hosting his prime time show (Sound Of Sam) on radio station Studio Brussel. As a music lover, social networking addict and unstoppable ball of energy, his legion of fans and supporters are a part of him as he is of them. Live, he's the front guy, fellow-deejay and makes the people foam at their mouths.
The band's audiophile is Bram Van Oost, a long time DJ (12 years), knob-fiddler, gear head and - yes - computer nerd, who takes care of the technical production and leads the audio productions in the studio. That synth-porn guy who mumbles things like OSC, LFO and ADSR in his sleep.
Live visuals make the live act complete, with Jonas Pottie as VJ, creating an immersive visual experience. But also as art director, sculpting smashing artwork and merchandising graphics.
SAMTEX has a collective experience and musical knowledge of a few decades, and that shows in their style and music productions. Out there, on the front lines, but with a clear link to the past electronic music that made the scene what it is today.
