In this video I show that Chafer taught assurance of salvation and eternal security were two separate issues. Assurance of salvation was based on claiming promises that God gave and was a present confidence that one was saved. Eternal security was a doctrine that strengthens assurance, but is real whether one believed it or not. A person could be saved without believing in eternal security, which would affect his walk, not his salvation
