November 11 is Veterans Day, a time to pay tribute to all who have served in the United States military. Among them are the famed Tuskegee Airmen of World War II, the first African American fighter pilot squadron.

The Detroit Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. works to preserve their legacy and to inspire young people to pursue careers in aviation, aerospace and STEM. One Detroit contributor Stephen Henderson of American Black Journal sat down with three members of the local chapter.
