My version of Cyril Tawney`s song of unrequited love with tragic consequences. I met Cyril in 1982 , as we were both playing at a local folk venue, and he was the special guest artist. Having left the royal navy in the late fifties he became a professional folk singer, and was a pioneer of the folk revival movement in the early sixties. Many of his songs have a maritime flavour.
