Musically, Sallow Moth goes hand in hand with the aforementioned lyrical themes of transformation in that the continuous evolution of the project has become a signature feature with each album. This album retains a portion of the genre-shifting approach of previous works, but deliberately exhibits more focus on the intersection of technical death metal and brutal death metal, especially with the addition of a highly skilled drummer in Allen Gingerich.
