“Black Sweetness," takes its name from a Malay proverb (“Hitam Manis”) used to address me when I was child, seemingly to offer comfort about my darker skin in a world that often didn't value it.
It is a song born from the experience of skin-bleaching, pervasive around the world, which placed higher value on fairer skin as beautiful. It’s about reclaiming the beauty of my brown skin after a childhood saturated with Eurocentric beauty standards, lack of representation and unpacking societal biases to truly love my own skin.

I was invited to Chornobyl, learned its history and recorded a version of fake paradise for a Ukrainian cultural project. More details are below...
Sounds of Chornobyl is a cultural and social music project in which Ukrainian and international artists recorded an album of 10 compositions on Chernobyls theme. All compositions are united by the audio library Sounds of Chernobyl - a collection of sounds recorded by Ukrainian media artist, author of the ARTEFACT project, Valeriy Korshunov, in 2018 and became the beginning of the project.
