Bought Myself a new 20 Volt brushless Dewalt electric drill and I really like it what a great tool ! very powerful and I was Trying it for the first time or second time I am not sure which ? I certainly made a big safety mistake! . Drilling with a small 5/32 inch drill bit just a few holes in a piece of aluminum on the workbench drilling onto a wood block and holding the aluminum piece with pliers . After drilling I was taking the bit out of the chuck and put the drill into reverse holding onto the chuck with my right hand to release the drill bit with the drill facing away from me and operating the drill with my left hand ... Squeezing the trigger the jaws opened fast and the bit pivoted down by gravity and was whipped around and around and thrown right into my face hitting my glasses right at my right eye . I was stunned ! It took a few minutes for me to regain my composure SMACK !
my glasses were scratched but the polycarbonate lens did not break and my right eye was spared and So this video is being made
to show what happened and hopfully save someone else a tragic painful accident . All tools need to be used properly and safely so BE SAFE ! Wear safety glasses and follow proper procedures .
I decided to make this video to show others my mistake of course this type of accident can happen with any electric drill and if one
