SAE Brisbane grads Grace Vu and Jeremiah Hawke are making their mark on the festival circuit 🎬
Created as a capstone project in 2023, The Way It Goes is a music video for Brisbane band Echo Hotel, brought to life by a crew of SAE creatives. Directed by Jeremiah and edited by Grace, the punk rock video takes a playful swing at media expectations and social norms through a bold, high-energy story.
Since May 2025, the project has been on an impressive festival run, earning selections at local and international festivals and picking up at least 10 awards along the way.
Highlights include Runner-Up in the Audience Choice Award for Music Video at West End Film Festival 2025, a finalist spot for Best Music Video at Underdog Film Fest 2025, and three nominations plus an award at New Bedford Film Festival 2026 in Massachusetts.
Grace also captured the behind-the-scenes content for the project and was named the 2024 Format X SAE Portfolio Award Winner 👏
