Sacha Hoedemaker is a Dutch composer. He has played the piano since he was eight years old; honing his craft bit by bit. He got picked up quite early in his career by successful directors and producers. They offered him to work behind the scenes, which was a tremendous opportunity for him to work on his songwriting-skills.
He started working on numerous projects; he wrote compositions for commercials, shows, and indie-movies. It dawned on him that his work mainly helped other people excel in their career — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But whenever he wrote a great composition, the producer got the credits. Over time, his job left him unfulfilled; it felt like he was not living up to his true potential — in other words, things had to change.
And luckily for him, change came earlier than he expected. He always say, “You never know how things will turn out. Whatever happens, happens. The important thing is that you followed your gut.” And he did. It still feels a bit unreal to him, but he is so proud to announce his music to you.
"In the Air" is a solo piano piece that tells the story of lifting off, rising up above the clouds and having a sense of peace. Sit back, close your eyes and take flight.
