This song is so special to me because it's my first recorded song in which I wrote every word and melody all by myself. I've loved every minute of working on this song since July 2013, when I wrote the first draft of this song. I had a feeling it was something special, but I knew it was missing something, but could never figure it out. It took a trip down to the Toronto lakeshore and a long drive to and from Guelph, ON where I thought of some of my favourite lines in the song a couple of months later. I've learned that the best moments in a song for me tend to come from extremely random and unexplainable inspiration. It was at those very moments I thought to myself: that's it, this is the song. Here it is a year later, and I'm so proud of it. Thank you to my producer David Henriques for the countless hours you've worked on this song. I think there were a million mixes, and you're the best. Thank you Adam Royce for letting me use your studio and letting me be my weird self making lots of weird noises and jokes. I'm still waiting for that dirty song...Thank you for also re-writing my lyrics as an R-rated version. F***ING MADLY, DEEPLY. Thank you to Justin Abedin for being the best guitar player ever and making the song so beautiful. And a thank you to Peter Letros at Wreckhouse Mastering for mastering the song. I got married in 2020! Melanie Ungar 2021-03-01 | A little snippet from our wedding day just over 6 months ago 😍 2020 wasn’t all bad, I got to marry the love of my life (but doing it in a worldwide pandemic was definitely not what we thought would happen). Would love to share more of the video, but want to respect the privacy of my husband, and our family and friends. Happy to answer any questions about getting married in a pandemic, and changing wedding plans, etc. * Fun fact: we walked down the aisle to some of our favourite Disney songs played by an incredible violinist and pianist: Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Once Upon a Dream, and Tale As Old As Time 🥰 * We were the first wedding/event back from the first lockdown at our venue. The St Regis in Toronto had literally just opened up and they were unbelievably amazing to deal with and made us feel so special ✨ Our timing couldn’t have been better since our numbers for covid cases were very low in the city, and the restrictions had just loosened up. * We sadly had to cut down our list to only our very closest friends and family, everyone wore masks and were seated 6 feet apart (with extra chairs if people wanted to sit alone in their own row), and treats were given to-go. It was a success! We took extra extra precautions all around. Everyone was super safe and no one got sick. * We had a small but incredible dinner after that with just with our parents and siblings. * It resembled nothing of our original wedding plans in Naples, FL. It was short, sweet, and ultimately, perfect just as it was.
