Aron is a grumpy god of life and death on a certain planet full of big lizards, giant insects and overgrown amphibians. Somehow mortals forget about the 'life' factor what adds to his grumpiness..
Song is a part of personal series 'The Sun the Moon the thief'
lyrics:
time to close your eyes
meet the end of days and nights
among my cold arms
know there's nothing left
you'll rot away
like those before you
and like those you forgot about
but I remember all of you
but I am made of all of you
they don't speak my name
no prayers they share
but who would call for
a presence of pain and death
you're just like them
looking far away
among memories
this is the fate this is no shame
the end
time to share your lies
I hear you all days and nights
that's my job after all
gods who cannot tell
joy or dismay
and you value them more
value them more than me
I will play that role
of a devil, monstrosity
that preys on mortals
since you are no more
oh poor damn soul
toss away all your fears
like those you forgot about
but I remember all of you
but I am made of all of you
they don't speak my name
no prayers they share
but who would pity
a presence of pain and death
how can I blame
a child who decays
no looking back now
step in afterlife
the cycle ends here
from your birth
to your demise
I wish I could've
save you from that
disappointment
they don't speak my name
but why would they care
about forgotten
presence of pain and death
you'd think I can avoid loneliness
you have each other
I have eternity
I know every name
the prayers I've heard
but who would call for
the god who takes and gives
you're just like them
shivering remains
I promised to love
this is the cycle of life and death
this is the fate this is no shame
do not be afraid my little lost soul
I wait for a day you shout out my name
Story that appears in the background:
Once there was a miserable spirit. The spirit called upon the Creator of the worlds: 'Oh, mighty Creator! Give a purpose to my existence, for it is meaningless and shallow.' And the Creator heard the spirit, and made him a God of the planet the Creator's sons owned, gods of the Sun and the Moon.
Yet, the spirit, who took a name of Aron, who was making sure the earth bears fruit that could feed all the living, who was taking care of all the souls taking their first breaths in their new bodies and walking their final paths to the Willow of Souls, became associeted with death only.
Mortals have only seen him in what has withered, and in what has rotten. They heard him in the final breaths of their loved ones.
And thus he became the feared and hated God. And thus he became sour and lonely.
Yet he never stopped loving the many of lifes he was meant to take care of. That was not the purpose he was given, but something he chose for himself.
