Come on down to the Texas Hill Country with us, where our RV Community fall rally took over the friendly little town of Fredericksburg. We based ourselves at Oakwood RV Resort and spent a week exploring, laughing, sampling, learning, and just hanging out with folks who rolled in from all across the country.
Downtown Fredericksburg buzzed with festivals and boutique shops, especially on the weekends. Back at the campground, the pace slowed to something sweeter. Dan tuned up his Martin guitar while everyone settled in. As the sun dropped behind the hills, we gathered for a potluck dinner, listened to a local historian share the town’s German roots, and took a stroll through each other’s rigs.
Evenings meant big campfires, fresh s’mores, and Dan leading us all in campfire songs. Daylight brought its own magic. The Hill Country is home to more than 75 wineries, so of course we had to sample a few award winners. Jen and Friends fired up a pancake and sausage breakfast for the whole crew. Jerry and Susie gave us a hands on demo of making Quiche Lorraine, a recipe passed down through Jerry’s French relatives. And most afternoons, everyone split up to explore their own favorite corners of the region.
Some visited the world class National Museum of the Pacific War. Others wandered through a giant wildflower farm. A bunch hiked Enchanted Rock, just a short drive into the hills. But the runaway favorite was our big night out in Luckenbach, Texas. In that iconic old dancehall, we two stepped until closing time. In Luckenbach, closing time is 9 PM, which felt just right.
There was plenty more that did not fit in this video without turning it into a full length movie. So we wrapped everything up with a gallery of photos taken by our attendees. It was a fantastic rally and it has us even more excited for 2026.
