The Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup took place between August and October 2024 in the beating heart of beautiful Barcelona.
After having won the America’s Cup in Auckland in 2021 again, @EmiratesTeamNZ were the Defenders of the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup. Sailing under the flag of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS), Emirates Team New Zealand were aiming to retain the Cup for the third consecutive time.
INEOS Britannia, sailing for the Royal Yacht Squadron Ltd., under the British flag, was the official Challenger of Record. Joined by four other teams, Alinghi Red Bull Racing (Switzerland), Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli (Italy), American Magic (USA), and Orient Express Racing Team (France), the Challengers lined up for a fierce competition for the ‘Auld Mug’.
In 2027, the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup will take place under the watchful shadow of Mt Vesuvius and just off the waterfront of the vibrant city of Naples. Italy, a country with one of the most colourful and enthusiastic America’s Cup histories, will host the Cup for the first time in its 174 year history.
