Favour Ikedife, a junior in the Rutgers University-Newark Honors Living-Learning Community, was looking for a paid internship where she could utilize her neuroscience and behavior education to better herself and help others. Through the Rutgers Summer Service Internship Initiative, she worked at Act Now Foundation, a dementia resource center in Union City (N.J.), supporting older adults take on daily challenges. Although the position took her out of her comfort zone, it delivered valuable perspective and a sense of fulfillment that was earned in service to others.
