I demonstrate how to use a penny, copper pipe, or spent cartridge case to clean rust from blued firearms. The concept is that copper is softer than steel and therefore should not scratch the bluing or the steel. Despite this, it is harder than the rust and will therefore remove it. Doing this will leave a film of copper much like the graphite in pencils will leave a deposit on paper. No problem, because Break Free CLP (and many other cleaning products) contains a copper solvent.
