STORYLINE:
A Russian court Thursday rejected an appeal by The Walt Disney Company project manager Jugal Daterao, who was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison after cannabis-laced gummy candies were found in his luggage earlier this year.
His public defender said Daterao would submit a pardon petition to the Russian president.
Daterao had previously told the court that the candies had been prescribed to him by a doctor in the United States to manage complications following brain surgery.
Daterao, 46, is an Indian national residing in the United States who manages more than 20 projects at The Walt Disney Company.
