Whether you agree or disagree with Envision Evanston 2045, 7 out of 9 City Council members are planning to rush through major housing and energy changes in January—and every Evanston resident needs to pay attention. At the December 17, 2024 Housing & Development Committee meeting, landlords and residents raised urgent questions:
Requiring buildings over a certain size to switch from gas to all-electric could cost landlords up to $1M.
