Runway just introduced a new feature, called Motion Brush. With Motion Brush, you can bring any part of an image to life.
You can control motion within very specific areas of your videos.
Inside of Runway Gen 2, you’ll need to start with an image.
Once you have the image, don’t click generate. Click motion brush instead.
This opens a new edit window. You can just paint over any area that you want to give motion to.
You have three different sliders to control the motion. Horizontal will create motion left to right, vertical will create motion up and down and proximity will give things a sense of unity. So if you want things to move more as a group, go higher and if you want things to be more independent, move lower.
Once you make all the changes press save. If save is not available, move one of the sliders very slightly and then it will become available.
You can now generate your video with or without any additional camera movements.
Once you generate, you can make edits by clicking the brush on the bottom. It will remember your previous selections.
