Setting up a Linux virtual machine in Windows. Video mainly details how to do this using Oracle’s VirtualBox, but also discusses VMware Workstation Pro, and includes a demo installation of the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).

Microsoft C++ redistributable package (for if this package is missing):
learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#latest-microsoft-visual-c-redistributable-version -- scroll down and download the X64 version
Python download (for if this package is missing): python.org/downloads
After installing Python, you also need to open the Windows command prompt and run the command: py -m pip install pywin32
VM WORKSTATION PRO:
To download, you first need to create a Broadcom account. The starting point provided by Broadcom is this link: support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/productdownloads?subfamily=VMware+Fusion
