The Player Avatar Rework is finally here. After years of development, the bigger question is whether this modernized avatar still feels like it belongs in RuneScape.
This week on RSBANDBUpdate!, we look at the new player avatar, base models, hairstyles, outfits, animations, and the female model to ask whether the rework landed in the right place. Is this a visual upgrade that preserves RuneScape’s identity, or does it point toward a larger shift in RS3’s future direction?
We also discuss the technical side of the rework, including how the new avatar interacts with older cosmetics, why outfit compatibility matters, what this enables for future animation and customization, and how far Jagex can modernize RuneScape before it stops feeling RuneScape-y.
Topics include:
- The new Player Avatar Rework
- Base avatar changes and hairstyles
- The female model and chatbox presentation
- Outfit and cosmetic compatibility
- Whether the update still feels RuneScape-y
- What the rework could enable for future RS3 updates
- June Marketplace items
- The larger 2026 RuneScape rebrand.
