Who doesn't remember the Rune Master saga? Would you like to enjoy those great multiplayer games again, but with 256 color graphics and improved sound? Kai Magazine in cooperation with John Hassink as a musician makes it possible with Rune Monster, a completely renovated game with a new story and curious characters. The requirements and features are:
MSX2 with 64KB RAM.
Support for MSX-MUSIC & MSX-AUDIO and Moonsound.
Support for turbo mode in Panasonic MSX2+ computers.
Support for R800.
16 MegaROM cartridge.
1-4 players game mode with the option of selecting how many enemies (CPU) we want to deal with (0 is allowed).
Several maps with different size and difficulty.
Spanish and English versions.
Save mode on the cartridge itself (TBD).

Some resources (some tiles) have been used from third parties websites that share free stuff for videogames development. Also other payment content has been used to speed up the development process of the game and improve the graphic quality that probably I wouldn't be able to reach without help. The video was recorded in 60FPS but some browsers show 30FPS creating a wrong effect. The game is much more smooth!
It's expected to release the game on 18 june during the 49th Barcelona MSX meeting. Before manufacturing the physical cartridges, it's necessary to open a preorder list to collect the money. The first 50 units will get a discount, so the final price of this first batch would be 39€ and 42€ for the next ones.
Would you like to take part in the development? Kai Magazine is looking for volunteers willing to collaborate drawing enemies. If you are interested or already decided to purchase your copy don't hesitate to contact Kai Magazine: kennethalbero@hotmail.com
