Through the Marvelous Game Showcase 2023 event, Series Director Shiro Maekawa announced two new games for the Rune Factory series that focus on the "East" and "West".
The first is a new spin-off game for the Rune Factory series called "Project Dragon". Rune Factory: Project Dragon will bring references to various new islands with Japanese-style design influences that have been frequently referenced in the series but never before shown. Players as earthmates will once again have a connection with a dragon. Not only that, but the game will also feature players being able to ride the dragon to travel and fight in different areas.
Meanwhile, for the main title of Rune Factory, Rune Factory 6 was announced to be in development. There is no further information about this new title other than the logo that features a "Western" theme and takes place in a story setting called "Adonea".

Finally, after so long waiting for confirmation from XSEED Games to announce the release date of Rune Factory 5 for the western version. Through the Future Game Show at E3 2021, they announced that the western version of Rune Factory 5 will be coming to Nintendo Switch in early 2022 with English voice actors. There has been no further announcement whether it will be present on other platforms as happened with Rune Factory 4 Special.
Even though this means that the game is again delayed from its initial target of being released in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been postponed to 2021 and is now postponed again in 2022. We hope that some of the current issues in the Japanese version have been fixed since the first day that Rune Factory 5 was released in the western version.
